My Story
In 2006, after having my third child, I decided that I wanted to be home and have a less stressful life for my family. After getting everything in order in 2007 I retired from the FDC after 13 1/2 years to raise and attend to the needs both academically and extra curicular, of my three beautiful children, this would prove to be the best decision of my life. Within a year of being home I realized their was a need within our community for childcare. After a lot of prayer and a long conversation with my then husband, I founded Lee Prep Family Childcare Home and within the walls of our home, a few dozen children along with their parents would become like family to us and this arrangement would suffice for the next ten years. in 2015, things changed and divorce was the season, I prayed and decided that my Criminal Justice degree that I once prized was no longer of interest to me and I began to pursue my Early Childhood Education degree. One day while leaving the college I was praying for guidance, I pulled into a home that was for sale and called the realator and before I knew it I got a YES for a lease, bad credit and no money is not a good mix when you want to start a business. BUT GOD, within a couple days the college called and offered me a job and with the later hours I would still be able to work at my in home daycare and teach for the money that would pay the lease! My children and I, along with my mother and few of my daycare parents, all pulled together and worked tirelessly to change the house into a daycare, which was not a small task, as each room had to accomadate ratio as well as health and safety to meet the states requirements, we accepted the challenge as we knew this is what we needed to do to pay the bills that one income was struggling to meet. In 2018, I founded and opened Aunt Bobbi's Preschool of the Arts and within six months a second location right around the corner fell in my lap, life was busy. In February of 2022, My 23 year old son, died by suicide and when the PreK class from the second locaton graduated and went to big school, I prayed and decided to close building 2 and bring the remaining children over to building 1 for a little less stress. A few weeks passed and a mutual friend of mine and my oldest son was telling me about a conversation they had a month prior to his death, and he mentioned a bible verse (Romans 8:28) and I knew that was my sign. After much prayer and talking with my other children and their father, I founded and became the President, an advocate and educator, for Christopher's Message!!I have recently started back to college and pray that GOD will continue my work within the community and help us secure the building that we love so much, be able to repair and maintain it and continue to thrive as a safe, nurturing little school that grows the foundation for learning in all the little people that attend and will continue to attend. Your donation could help in so many areas. Please consider a donation towards our goal of buying the building and if you cant offer monetary assistance, pray and pass our mission onto others. If you got this far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. "And we know that for those who love GOD all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28)...... GOD IS FAITHFUL!!
